Spring Community Detox
Spring Community Detox
What is Spring Community Cleanse?
Ayurvedic text teaches us about Ritucharya; seasonal rituals, as a way of optimizing health. Spring cleanse is one of the most eloquent of these rituals as we find ourselves with a deep desire to “Spring Clean.” Just as the snow filled mountains have a spring run-off, so does our body experience a run-off. With the support of spring foods and warmer temperatures, our bodies naturally release the built up toxins of the previous season.
Giving the body extra support with this simple, community, practitioner-led detox supports a more effective and longer lasting detox. Clean up the built up toxins from the winter season while setting yourself up for a successful and health-filled spring (and beyond!)
What can you expect from this experience?
COMMUNITY MEETINGS:
I want you to feel as supported as possible and, therefore, we will meet 5 times during our cleanse. Meetings take place at 8pm Mountain Time, with the exception of one Saturday morning. These meetings are not only educational, but allow you to check in with people who are on the same path as you. The support and encouragement of the community makes this a unique and special experience. As our community meetings we will address food, herbs, body therapy, what might be coming up emotionally, and proper processes. Although a community plan, this cleanse will address your individual needs.
RECIPES, CLEANSE MANUAL, AND SUPPLEMENTAL RESOURCES FOR SUCCESS
Literally everything you need for success will be available to you. A shopping list, a multitude of recipes for pre-cleanse and post-cleanse, spice guides, daily planners and additional education are included in the cost of the cleanse.
NUTRITION:
This cleanse utilizies a classical Ayurvedic cleansing food, kitchari. When we remove the stress around food (what to prepare, ultimately), we can dig deeper into our relationship with food. Why do we forget to eat? Why do we eat when we aren’t hungry? What are our emotional attachments around food. Kitchari will provide all you need nutritionally while you focus on other areas of your beautiful YOU. Returning cleansers will be excited to find new kitchari and pre and post cleanse recipes on the menu this year!!!
GUIDELINES FOR HEALTHY EATING
How we eat is as important as what we eat! We will cover the Guidelines to Healthy Eating as a way to ensure we have healthy and productive habits around meal times. It is important to note that research shows what ancient healers of Ayurveda have known all along - Disease starts with digestion. Having a healthy digestive experience is essential to long-term health. Besides, its just simply more comfortable that way!
SPICES & HERBS
Learn how Ayurveda utilizes simple kitchen spices as medicine to improve digestion. Walk away with a clear understanding about which spices are best for your unique dosha and enjoy some simple, seasonally appropriate spice mixes to improve the digestibility (and taste!) of any meal.
DINACHARYA
Learn which daily body therapies and practices are helpful in supporting a healthy body and beautiful skin, teeth and nails. Learn simple ways to reset the circadian rhythm and experience ideal hormonal function along with productive sleep patterns.
DAILY EMAILS
Receive a daily encouragement email with instructions and helpful reminders for the day. You will never feel alone in this process.
MEDITATIONS
Tune in for daily group meditation. Integration of body, mind and soul is such a lovely part of the cleanse process. As we reassess our relationship to food and to the unhealthy toxins we’ve been carrying around, a deeper integration of self becomes availble to us. If we aren’t tuning deeper into our bodies, what is the point of all of this?
When is it?
We will cleanse right around the Spring Equinox for the most effective results and in honor of all that Gaia has to offer in the turning of the seasons. We have a kick-off call on March 19th and then our official start date is March 22nd. If these dates don’t work for you, that’s okay! You can still participate in the virtual meetings, if you like, and you can start and end your cleanse on the days that are convenient for you. Meetings will be recorded for your convenience.

What do other cleansers think about the experience?
The detox comes at the perfect time, when I'm tiring of the usual foods and eating out, and I'm feeling like I need a change from some habits (like ice cream almost every night). Britney provides a mutli-layered approach, teaching about Ayurveda and the dosha body types, while also explaining what will happen with the cleanse, offering multiple recipes and suggestions for meals, substitutions, and snacks, providing morning meditations that help us connect with our bodies even more, near-instant access for questions along the way, and explanations for what's going on in our bodies during the seasonal transition and the cleanse. Britney is so knowledgeable and is able to answer any and all questions thoroughly and with plenty of examples. The format is do-able, with five meetings and morning meditations all via Zoom, and it's fun to go through it as a group, to hear other people's challenges and wins, to know you're not in it alone. The entire experience is orchestrated with intention and provides a truly holistic experience, with results. After the cleanse I am experiencing more consistent elimination, more energy, more suppleness, some weight loss, and a better connection to cooking and to food. I'm seeking nourishment and satiation rather than simple pleasure. It's been a wonderful experience!
The daily practices are where I gained the most out of the program and plan to continue with many of them. I would like to talk about specific foods for me personally.
Slowing down to a more leisurely digestive rhythm than what I had this summer, incorporating more cooking and planning into my food preparation, which i love returning to. A reminder of the importance of daily meditation, breathing, chanting, abhyanga, and going to bed as reasonably early as I can. I feel like I lost a few pounds, toned up or whatever, not that I wanted to, but I feel leaner. I feel more even-keel, more balanced. Loved the whole experience!
